Establishment

The Multidisciplinary AI Research Centre (MARC) was established at the University of Peradeniya with a visionary goal: to position Sri Lanka at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) and prepare for the impending IR5.0. With the university's rich expertise spanning Engineering, Science, Agriculture, Medicine, Humanities, and Management, MARC was conceived as a bold initiative to capitalize on the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for national development.
